Plastic surgery procedures in Merida

Eight areas of practice, from body contouring to complex reconstruction. Each one covers the technique Dr. Orozco uses, who is a good candidate, what recovery looks like week by week, and real cases operated in Merida.

Can procedures be combined?

Yes, and often it makes sense: one anaesthetic, one recovery, one period off work. The most frequent combination is abdominoplasty with flank liposuction and breast surgery — commonly called a mommy makeover. The limit is not what the patient wants but safe operating time and general health, and that is settled in the pre-operative assessment with internal medicine and cardiology.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between cosmetic and reconstructive surgery?

Cosmetic surgery modifies a healthy structure to improve its appearance; reconstructive surgery restores form and function lost to cancer, trauma, burns or congenital difference. Dr. Orozco performs both, and reconstructive technique — flap handling, scar planning — is the foundation of a durable aesthetic result.

How much time off work will I need?

It depends on the procedure and your work. As a general guide: 7 to 10 days for desk work after facial or breast surgery, 10 to 15 days after liposuction, and 15 to 21 days after abdominoplasty. Return to impact exercise is longer in every case: four to six weeks.

Do I need tests before surgery?

Always. At minimum full laboratory work and internal medicine clearance, plus cardiology assessment and imaging depending on age and history. If any result is out of range, surgery is postponed until it is corrected.

How is the cost of each procedure set?

Cost is set at your consultation, case by case: technique, areas treated, operating time, hospital, anaesthesia team, pre-operative testing and the follow-up included all affect it. You leave with a written, itemised quote.

Where are surgeries performed?

At Hospital Faro del Mayab (Christus Muguerza) in Merida, with an equipped operating theatre, certified anaesthesiologist and the capacity to manage complications.

Can my first assessment be done remotely?

Yes. Video consultation with electronic prescription is available for patients in other cities or abroad. An in-person assessment is still required before surgery, and it is scheduled as part of your trip.
